Currently, we are looking to add a Scientific Technical Writer to our team:

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Writes accurate, concise, and properly formatted product descriptions for biochemicals, antibodies, and proteins
  • Assigns product classifications to large collections of products based on type or research area
  • Interfaces with other departments to make insert template changes, format new templates, and update existing marketing materials
  • Proofreads first drafts of product descriptions and contract writer inserts, providing feedback to the writer
  • Writes background and proofreads assay kit booklets according to Cayman guidelines
  • Assists in onboarding and training of new full-time and contract technical writers
  • Represents the technical writing group on cross-functional teams
  • Develops the skillset to diagnose inefficiencies within the tech writing routines and propose solutions
  • Establishes a foundation of knowledge that will lead to long-form writing opportunities


  • Education – Ph.D. in a life sciences discipline such as biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, immunology, biology, etc.
  • Experience – 2 years of technical science writing experience is preferred
  • Computer Skills – Microsoft Office, ability to perform targeted literature reviews to quickly identify the primary activity of biochemicals
  • Strong background knowledge in receptor pharmacology and familiarity with structure-activity relationship (SAR) approaches
  • Ability to work independently, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks (g. writing product descriptions, classifying products, proofreading other team members’ writing, etc.)
  • Travel to one scientific meeting annually for professional development
  • Availability to work a remote schedule during normal business hours
