MichBio is part of a network of organizations that work nationally and internationally on behalf of the United States and global bio-industries. As part of those partnerships, MichBio participates in federal advocacy days, policy-specific advocacy efforts, and engages organizations within the state of Michigan to participate in national advocacy where appropriate.

  • Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed)

    The Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed), is a trade association that leads the effort to advance medical technology in order to achieve healthier lives and healthier economies around the world.


    AdvaMed promotes competitive policies that foster the highest ethical standards, rapid product approvals, appropriate reimbursement, and access to international markets. While those policies are tailored to specific issues facing the device and diagnostics industry, the need for strategic government policies is applicable to all high technology, high-value sectors.

  • Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO)

    The Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) is the world's largest advocacy association representing member companies, state biotechnology groups, academic and research institutions, and related organizations across the United States and in 30+ countries.

  • Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA)

    The Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA) is a national trade association based in Washington, DC.


    MDMA plays a proactive role in helping to shape policy that impacts the medical device innovator. To achieve these goals, MDMA represents its members' collective interests before the United States Congress, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and other federal agencies that develop or implement policies that affect the medical device industry.

    The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) represents the country's leading innovative biopharmaceutical research companies, which are devoted to discovering and developing medicines that enable patients to live longer, healthier and more productive lives.


    Since 2000, PhRMA member companies have invested nearly $1 trillion in the search for new treatments and cures, including an estimated $83 billion in 2019 alone.
